CRAFTING
Artisenal jewelry is a key part of Ecuadorian culture and way of living. Here in Marianitas you can join in with your own ideas and designs to help us craft jewelry for many visitors just like you. We welcome you to join us in creating sustainable goods that others can bring home as souvenirs to their friends and family. We use renewable resources like tagua nuts to make necklaces, seeds from trees to make bracelets, and recyclable paper.
TEACHING ENGLISH
Several members of our group are interested in learning English. We have limited resources so if you have any English teaching books available that would be a great help. If you're interested in working with children, we can organize for you to spend more of your volunteering hours in the school as well!
PLANTING
Whether in the organic garden, green houses owned by members of the group, or reforestation, we are in need of green thumbs. If you have any interest in gardening, please join us as we work the land to provide for our families. We'll be cooking with organic crops you helped grow in no time.

WHAT TO BRING
Must haves include an open heart and desire to contribute to our small community

Ear plugs for light sleepers...This may not be an issue but better safe than sorry, there are a lot of dogs here

Anything you may need. We are located in a small city in the rainforest and may not have ready access to your favorite toiletries, medicines, etc

The ability to survive with very limited access to internet
SCHEDULE
8 AM Breakfast
9-1 Work making jewelry/crafts or in the school or gardening
1 PM Lunch
2-4 Work making jewelry/crafts or gardening
4-5 Teach English classes
5-7 Relax or learn spanish
7 PM Dinner
Weekends off
